Carolmarie

I said, Hello Carolmarie

I knew I’d be meetin’ you soon.

I needed somebody come dance with me

On the far side of the moon.

You said, “Oh, oh, oh seems I’m not goin’ that way.

Hey, hey, hey I’m far too busy today.”

Yeh, but you got the message that I needed you forever

Just to keep me from fallin’ apart.

Tell me how can such a little girl have such a big heart?

So slip into your dancing shoes.

Put your red dress on.

Let’s go steppin’ just you and me baby.

See if we can still dance until dawn.

I’ll whirl you and twirl you and never let you down,

Lighter than air, our feet never touching the ground.

And I’ll say, “This is the life”

And you’ll say, “Yeh, but life just imitates art.”

And I’ll say, “How can such a little girl have such a big heart?”

So let’s drink a round to the love that we found.

Another taste of the wine

Before we shatter the crystal glass on the ground

And watch it sinkin’ in the sands of time.

And I’ll say, “Hey, hey, hey you don’t have to play time’s game.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow are all the same.”

And you’ll say, “If that’s true then I’ll love you

From the beginning of the end to the start.”

And I’ll say, “How can such a little girl have such a big heart?

How can such a little girl have such a big heart?”

NOTES:  in 2000 Carolmarie said she wanted me to write her a song for her birthday gift so after procrastinating until the day before her birthday I wrote Carolmarie.  Titled Carol's Song on the CD and it describes  just a few of her many exceptional qualities.
