Ballad Of The Red Ranger
On a planet ruled by violence and rage
The Red Ranger steps onto the stage
To free a kingdom long enslaved.
In shining armor like the knights in days of old
Striding proudly, brave and bold,
But there is no damsel to be saved.
Bewildered as he slowly walks away
He hears the tragic jester say,
“It seems our hero has misbehaved”.
Oh, Angelina, in your golden gown
Your ruby lips should never know a frown.
Oh, Angelina, reach out your hand.
Where has the magic gone? I just don’t understand.
Loads and loads of logs roll through the mill
While all the trees just stand so still
With roots in drifts of shifting sands.
All the jewels are assembled in the sky.
In burning colors autumn flies,
Disregarding your commands.
The Phantom of the Opera waltzes in.
The curtains rise. The play begins.
You hold the world within your hands.
Oh, Angelina, you are the dawn.
Without your light the endless night just lingers on.
Oh, Angelina, I need your smile.
Stay and walk with me for just a little while.
Don’t you wonder why the world works like it does?
When you were young it was “Just because.”
Now you’ve got no one there to ask.
The scientist is standing in his lab.
The body is lying on the slab.
Fluid’s boiling in the flask.
You’re wondering if maybe you’ve been had.
He begins to act a little mad,
The Phantom slowly drops his mask.
Oh, Angelina, you hold the key.
Please help me free the man inside of me.
Oh, Angelina, don’t go away.
Without your glow the sun would never light the day.
The saddest thing is watching friends you’ve made
Drifting slowly through the shade
In rippling waters to the sea.
Taking time to dance the polonaise
With your melancholy ways
You broke my chains of liberty.
On the rocky roads that occupy your time
You stand convicted of the crime,
Forever failing to be free.
Oh, Angelina, don’t let me down.
Take my hand and help me stand on this trembling ground.
Oh, Angelina, don’t let me fall.
Come lift me up and help me climb above the wall.
All the time that I stood there in the wind
Locked outside and looking in
The nights were dark and the lights were dim.
Delicately balanced on the wire,
Inching forward, ever higher,
Dancing closer to the rim,
Seeking visions of a man I could admire
And as I stumbled into the fire
In the mirror I watched you holding him.
Oh, Angelina, please don’t go.
You’ll leave me with a pain no soul should know.
Oh, Angelina, come hold me tight.
I need shelter from the cold, dark rainy night.
Now when I see the man I have become
And knowing where I started from
I turn to you and start to cry
‘Cause lady I know I’ve always let you down
I’ve turned your whole world all around
And I’ve got no good reason why.
Don’t it seem that life goes by so fast?
Without the lessons of the past
We can only watch the future die.
Oh, Angelina, you are the one.
You are my everything, my Earth, my Moon, my Sun.
Oh, Angelina, you hold my heart.
We are so close. How could we ever part?
You sit and watch the sands of time slip by.
Oh how the days just seem to fly.
This isn’t really what you planned.
Your dreams drift by like feathers on the breeze,
Silhouetted by the trees,
And just beyond your outstretched hand.
You’re imprisoned by imaginary bars.
You could be traveling to the stars.
You will receive what you demand.
Oh, Angelina, I love you true
My whole world would be nothing without you.
Oh, Angelina, you belong to me.
Come and hold me in your arms eternally.
