As I travel through time with my heart in my hand

Just a pawn in that game that I don’t understand      

There are people I’ve known if for only a while

That I will always remember with a warm and a tender smile.

                              

A little too much like me.  Behind your shallow disguise,

I see apart of you soul looking back through your eyes

And when I think about you everything else falls away

And I feel like I’m acting just a part in your play.

 

How we met at a time when it was no longer right

To take it beyond a simple good night

But I swear to you now you will be never alone.

There’s a piece of my heart that you always will own.

 

So as you travel through time with your heart in your hand
